Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, J-Lo… they've all been married more than once, but which stars have said 'I do' the most times? And which actress has tied the knot a whopping nine times?!

 Angelina Jolie - two marriages

 Angelina Jolie actually ranks pretty low on the list of stars with multiple marriages! The actress has had two failed marriages; the first with Jude Law's best mate Jonny Lee Miller and the second with oddball actor Billy Bob Thornton.
Brad Pitt might as well be hubby number three but they're too busy cleaning baby sick off their tops to make it up the aisle... or maybe Angelina is scared that marriage to Brad would be like the wafer-thin plot of 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith'?
 Jennifer Lopez - three marriages

 Jennifer Lopez is proof that practice makes perfect - she was married for one year to hubby number one, two years to hubby number two (Cris Judd, above) and a whopping six years to current hubby, Marc Anthony. The hopeless romantic was also ditched at the altar by Ben Affleck in 2003, resulting in the untimely demise of the world's best ever celeb nickname, Bennifer.

 Tom Cruise - three marriages

 The older and weirder Tom Cruise gets, the younger and hotter his women become! He's been hitched three times, first to Mimi Rogers (above) in the 80s, then Nicole Kidman in the 90s, and now Katie Holmes. In between, he dated Penelope Cruz and Modern Family babe Sofia Vergara. He must have one hell of a wing man...

Ulrika Jonsson - three marriages

 It's third time lucky for Ulrika Jonsson. She's been married to a TV cameraman and a 'Mr Right' (Lance Gerrard-Wright, above) who she met when she hosted a reality show, and she's had just as many high-profile relationships that didn't end in marriage. But so far so good with her third husband, American advertising boss Brian Monet. We've got our fingers crossed, Ulrika!

Kelsey Grammer - four marriages

 Frasier Crane couldn't handle commitment but that's not a trait that Kelsey Grammer shares - in real life, Kelsey has promised "till death do us part" four times! In fact he loves it so much that he married lucky number four on 25 February this year, just 15 days after his divorce from Playboy model Camille Donatacci (above) was settled.

 Britney Spears - two marriages

 Britney Spears had two marriages, both in the same year - first to her childhood friend Jason Alexander, which was annulled, and then nine months later to Kevin Federline and you all know how that ended. Now she's rumoured to be angling for a ring off her current beau Jason Trawick. Third time lucky before she's 30? If anyone can do it, Britney can.

Rod Stewart - three marriages

 It's fair to say that Rod 'The God' Stewart has a thing for blondes, preferably of the young, leggy variety. He's been married to Penny Lancaster since 2007 but before that he spent 16 years with model Rachel Hunter (above) and five years with Alana Stewart, another model. The small man with the big hair is most definitely the marrying kind - he's rarely been single since 'Maggie May' was in the charts.

 Billy Bob Thornton - five marriages

 Angelina's ex has been married five times, the longest of which lasted only four years, so long-term love isn't one of his strengths. The eccentric star obviously has a magnetism when it comes to the ladies but Billy Bob has said that he won't get hitched again because marriage "doesn't work" for him. Shame it took him five divorces to work that out!

Patsy Kensit - four marriages

 Patsy Kensit definitely has a type - bad boy musicians. Her first spouse was Dan Donovan of Big Audio Dynamite. He was quickly followed up the aisle by Jim Kerr from Simple Minds, and then Patsy's most high-profile hook-up, Liam Gallagher. They divorced in 2000 after she'd had a son, Lennon, named after Liam's hero John Lennon. Patsy wasn't put off marriage and soon found her fourth catch, DJ Jeremy Healy, but they broke up last February after less than a year's marriage.

She recently said: "With one million per cent conviction, I definitely won't be getting married again."

 Pamela Anderson - three marriages

 You can't hurry love, as Pamela Anderson's marriage failures have proved. She wed Tommy Lee after they'd only known each other for four days, then got hitched to Kid Rock after a whirlwind relationship. Her last marriage to Rick Salomon in 2008 ('famous' for making a sextape with Paris Hilton) was annulled after five months.

Charlie Sheen - three marriages

 Charlie Sheen has been divorced three times but looking at his recent conduct, we don't think his marrying days are all behind him. His second union, to Denise Richards, broke up in 2005 when she was pregnant with their daughter. But it didn't slow him down, Charlie got hitched to his third wife three years ago but he filed for divorced last November. At the moment he's dating two 'goddesses' so we're sure that it won't be long before one of them passes the audition and is promoted to wife number four.

Joan Collins - five marriages

 For a diva of Joan Collin's stature, we're almost surprised she's ONLY tied the knot five times. For 77-year-old Joan, the secret to success seems to be a union with a much younger man... her current husband is 32 years younger than she is and they renewed their vows in 2009 after seven years of wedded bliss.

Janice Dickinson - three marriages

 We might know her best as the mouthy menace from I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, but Janice was one of the world's first supermodels and, in typical Janice style, she's extremely candid about the way she slept her way through the Hollywood A-list when she was in her prime. If you believe Janice, she's been with Jack Nicholson, Mick Jagger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and John Cusack, and that's just for starters. Marriage-wise, she's tried and failed three times.

Elizabeth Taylor - seven marriages

 With seven marriages to six men, Elizabeth Taylor's lovelife was extraordinary right from the start - her first husband was Conrad Hilton, heir to the Hilton Hotel chain; her last husband she met in rehab and married at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. In between, there was scandal (she broke up another high-profile union at the height of her fame) and a love affair that was even condemned by the Vatican, after she and Richard Burton fell in love while married to other people, and went on to marry and divorce. Twice.

Melanie Griffith - four marriages

 Melanie Griffith has tied the knot four times, twice to the same man! She was married to Miami Vice smoothie Don Johnson in 1976 for just seven months, after they first got together when she was a teenager, and they reunited 13 years later for a second trip up the aisle. The lucky lady has been with Antonio 'Puss in Boots' Banderas since 1996.

Zsa Zsa Gabor - nine marriages

 Why would someone get hitched nine times - maybe Zsa Zsa Gabor was just a massive fan of wedding cake? Not surprisingly, none of her marriages was straightforward... One marriage was annulled when Zsa Zsa was accused of bigamy, one of her ex-husbands went on to marry her sister, and her seventh husband was the divorce lawyer from a previous marriage. Why has no one made a film about her life yet??!!
